Who will find this tour fun?
People who want to eat local will love this tour. We start with fresh fruit, a gourmet breakfast flatbread, Fratello coffee and a wine tasting at J.Webb at The Market. Then we’ll give guests a meal plan and shopping list and hit the market to meet the people who grow our food.
The ranchers and farmers you’ll meet on this tour are from Southern British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan. They devote their lives to growing food for you to eat and this is your chance to talk to hear how they do it.
Visitors to the area will also love this tour to gain an appreciation of the bounty of food that can be grown in the Prairie and Rocky Mountain Regions of Canada.
What food can you expect to try on this tour?
Alberta is famous for its beef products and you’ll meet a rancher that raises their cattle without hormones or antibiotics and with complete control of their herd from birth until it is delivered to you at the market. You’ll also get to try Alberta’s indigenous species: elk and bison. Beyond meat you’ll try fresh vegetables and fruit, juices and fruit wines made from the abundant berry crops that the long days of Prairie sunshine deliver. You’ll also get to try some Canadian Grand Prix and World Cheese Championship Gouda from Alberta’s most famous cheese maker and sample some sausages made from pasture-raised pork.
Why take this touring adventure?

We’ll help you discover new ways to cook the produce and share recipe ideas as we tour the market. Anyone can shop at the market, we’ll help you forge bonds with the community that lies within the market. After taking this tour, you’ll look forward to returning time again to visit with and support your new friends.
